Church of St. Urh in Podgorje

Church of St. Urh is located in Podgorje pri Slovenj Gradec, behind Cultural home. The church is dedicated to St. Ulrich or St. Urh. It is the Roman Catholic territorial parish of Stari trg deanery of Carinthia archdeacon, which is part of archdiocese Maribor. The church was for the first time mentioned in the year 1375, in the year 1790 becomes a seat of curation and in the year 1891 parish.

Chuch consists of a belltower, rectangular nave and 3/8 conclude presbytery with the vestry. The belltower was renovated in the year 1626, it was elevated in the year 1839. In the third quarter of 18. century, the nave was rebuilt in the late Baroque style. Presbytery is still Gothic, on the outside it is supported by a pillar, on the inside it is covered with a star-shaped arch, whose ribs are connected by joints. Belltower is late Gothic, extension, and nave are in design probably from the 14th century, presbytery was definitely created after the Turkish arson of the church in the year 1476.
