Fruit drying room

Fruit drying room in Mali Lipoglav vas erected in year 1937, and today stands on Grum’s homestead. At that time, teacher Alojz Trček gave the initiative, while landowner of homestead Grum gave a peace of his land to construct fruit drying room. Janez Grum’s family got two drying trays into use, the rest were handled by village famers, who were also co-owners. Each of them had one drying tray for drying. All ten drying trays have been braided from young clematis. During WWII, in year 1942, the drying room was burned down. After the war there was no interest for preserving and continuing the tradition, so it remained in ruins until year 1999. At that year City municipality of Ljubljana partially restored it. Its renovation was finished in year 2001 by Jožefa Grum’s son.
