Thematic trail On ancient trails under Čaven connects all three villages in the lap of Čaven – Kamnje, Vrtovin, Črniče. It unites the already established hiking trails and represents interesting monuments of former times. Here we can find the Roman water tower in Vrtovin, medieval camp above Črniče and the hundred year old stone bride in Kamnje. The reason for establishing the trail is uncanny cultural-historical and natural heritage, which was with the trail logically connected. Thematic trail On ancient trails under Čaven is 27 kilometres long and unites trails from different historical eras, the oldest dates back to Antiquity. Central points of the trail are hundred year old bridge in Kamnje, the highest still preserved building from Antiquity in Slovenia – water tower above Vrtovin and anti-Turkish Tabor above Črniče.

Trail is conceived as circular trail and each village individually offers extra starting points for many trails: touristic, recreational and hiking. Along the trail are placed 9 informational boards with description and explanation of the attraction. Trail is also equipped with orientation marks (arrows and blazes). You can enter the trail in one of the villages – Kamnje, Vrtovin or Črniče. You can also walk only individual sections of the trail. On the map is marked, as an entry point, the point in the village Kamnje.

Vrtovin belongs among the most elongated counties in Ajdovščina. It is characterised by reminders of the past that locals included into contemporarily life.
