Neo-Gothic church on Bled is dedicated to St. Martin. It was built in year 1905, on the site where previously stood Gothic church from 15th century. First chapel was built already before the year 1000.

Plans to build a new church were contributed by professor Friedrich von Schmidt (also author of city hall in Vienna). Plans have been slightly modified, particularly interior, that was done by architect Josip Vancaš. Most of the statues are the work of Ivan Vurnik from Radovljica and are made from the finest marble.

Between year 1932 and 1937, the academic painter Slavko Pengov painted the church with frescoes. In front of the church is a garden sign, which is a project work by architect Jože Plečnik, before WWII. Preserved walls, built in 15 century, are reminiscent of the period of Turkish invasions in our area.
