
Adolf Muhr is a lord from the 19th century, and the Viennese wholesaler. In year 1882 he bought the castle lordship Bled, which was in his possession until year 1919. At the lake Bled, in year 1892, he built the Villa Ilsenheim, today known as Villa Rog. After his death, in year 1906, his two children erected a monument for him under the castle rock in the woods on the outlier Višce. The monument was built in the Art Nouveau style. On the monument is a portrait of Adolf Muhr and relief scene from the legend of St. Hubert, protector of hunters. The monument is enclosed with four stones and a chain that connects them. The monument renewal was based on cultural protection conditions, and was done by Leopold Šajn. The monument was solemnly uncovered at the end of September in year 2010.

Višce
Višce (550 m) do not have a prominent peak, but it is a nice walk through the woods. We go to Višce from western side of the lake, at sign Rečica – Višce. The path is well marked and takes us in a circle around Višce back to the starting point. At Višce is a monument of Adolf Muhr. [_Read more_]
