Šturje

Šturje lies on the left bank of river Hubelj. In the past was independent village and represented the border between Goriška and Kranjska. Šturje is primarily a residental area with architectural specialities. In the church of St. George with pictures of Matevž Langus and Tone Kralj.

 

The first Slovenian puppeteer, Milan Klemenčič, lived in šturje in 1920’s. In his own house he created the first puppet theatre and made marionette puppets.
