In Slovenia on August 17th we celebrate holiday of Unification of Prekmurje Slovenians with parent nation after First World War, day, when Prekmurje belong according to Paris peace conference to Monarchy of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians, with that Prekmurje Slovenians after centuries of hegemony of Hungarian government were again united with parent nation. August 12 1919, at the end of WWI, Prekmurje was occupied by Yugoslavian army. After massive gathering on August 17th 1919 in Beltinci the government was passed onto civilian manager.

The holiday was according the Law about holiday and work free days in Republic Slovenia introduced in year 2005, state celebration is since 2009 organised every five years. The holiday is not work free day.
