On the motorway we go towards Jesenice until the exit Ljubelj. From here continue to the border crossing, only a few meters before we follow the signs for Zelenica. We continue towards the gravel parking lot under the ski centre.

At the end of the parking lot the hikers sign directs us toward mountain pasture Preval, we start on the road through the woods to the foot of the scree and a crossroads. We follow the directions from the writing on a larger rock, this path will lead us toward Preval on the path that later takes us through the woods. Later this path becomes steep and secured. We continue on the viewing path to the Born tunnel. We go over the pass carefully, because here we encounter puddles and low ceiling. Once out of the tunnel we keep on the path, that later goes over scree that we cross. The path ascends moderately, but we are surrounded by steep forest covered slopes. Wide path is still ascending slightly, later it connects with the path coming from Podljubelj. Here we turn right and follow the path to the mountain pasture Preval.

On the mountain pasture Preval we notice a cross, where we are directed on the marked path over Kalvarija to Begunjščica. Ascending on grassy slopes, we later enter the woods. In the woods the path becomes steeper (here be very careful when the ground is wet, because there is a serious danger of slipping). We go through a ravine to the memorial monument, than later continue on grassy slopes. Later the marked path turns left and after a few minutes we arrive to a small valley where the path straightens. After the valley the path again ascends on the main Begunjščica ridge. After a short descend, the path leading from Šentanski plaz joins. The Begunjščica ridge widens from there on.  We continue to the Veliki Vrh. We reach the top of Begunjščica only after a short descend and ascend towards the top.
