Access:
On the motorway we go towards Jesenice until the exit Ljubelj. From here continue to the border crossing, only a few meters before we follow the signs for Zelenica. We continue till the gravel parking lot under the ski centre.

From the parking lot we go toward Zelenica on a rut. The rut is ascending moderately and is placed on the left side of the ski lane. Later it takes us into the woods all the way to the lodge. We continue straight, on the marked path leading us towards dwarf pines. We are ascending moderately, later again continuing on the rut that brings us to Zelenica.

From the lodge we continue left towards Begunjščica, through the woods and dwarf pines to the scree, which we cross. Later we start ascending, after coming to the top, we continue on the pronounced ridge, over steeper slopes to the shorter descend, where we again reach the scree of Smokruški avalanche. Moving forward, crossing the scree and upward on the steeper slope. The path is ascending transversally through the dwarfed pine toward a very steep part equipped with a wire rope. We keep going to the main ridge of Begunjščica, where there is another wire rope. Short descend takes us to the crossroads, where we go left toward Velik vrh. We stay on the steep path, but pay attention to stay on the correct one, because humans and sheep have made a number of different paths, and we could easily take the wrong one. We stay on the left, not well marked path (especially in bad visual conditions). When wet be extra cautious in order not to slip. This road takes us to the top of Begunjščica.
