The cavern is located in the valley, located along the local road Vojščica – Sela na Krasu, about 800 meters from the last houses in Vojščica, to the left of a large meadow. It is the immovable cultural heritage of the Austro-Hungarian origin, which was built between the years 1916 and 1917. It is a region of a battlefield Kostanjevica, Vojščica. Cavern was created with mining and excavations into bedrock for the needs of warfare during WWI. It was located in the hinterland of Kostanjevica, Vojščica battlefield. It served the Austro-Hungarian, more specifically the Hungarian battalion, as a shelter for sleep, wounded, rest and storage of weapons. This and other caverns on the Karst were built by Russian prisoners under the command of a special Austro-Hungarian unit for the construction of caverns in the Karst region.

Above the entrance to the cavern is a stone inscription with ornaments, which is still very well preserved.

If we want to access the cavern, we must cross the meadow along the road past a lonely tree. At the end of the meadow, the road turns slightly to the right, and on the left side, parallel to the road, we see a stone wall representing the edge of the valley. We descend to the valley on the path or carefully cross the wall and descend. In the right part of the valley are the remains of the walls and the entrance to the cavern. In the middle of the valley are the remains of the water reservoir.
