Mestni trg (en. Town square) is located in the old city center, through it went the state road Ljubljana – Novo mesto. On the place where fountain stands, it spatially extends. In the middle of the square alone stands a linden tree, which was planted around year 1885, when Falcons (si. Sokoli) from Ljubljana went for the first time through Višnja Gora towards Novo mesto. Above the square is the church of St. Ana, below is the old school. Among most famous attractions on the square is the Valvsor’s fountain.
Mestni trg is known after Jurčič’s Goat trial in Višnja Gora, which definitely is not the only public trial. City had the right to a bloody court or better known as the death judgment and on Mestni trg they judged to outlaws, murderers and witches.

Višnja gora
