NLS monuments at Pugled

In the times of National Liberation struggle on the area of Pugled, many actions and battles of partisan battalion II. group detachments took place. In the forests of Pugled was since year 1941 partisan outpost for activists. The cause of many struggles was the border set between german and italian invaders. The border run exactly at this area. Partisans repeatedly attacked fascist patrols, which populated the parson’s house and were getting food from Šmarje.

The area around the top of Pugled is memorial area that was tidied in year 1976. Here was a camp of 2. Styria  battalion and II. group detachments. At this area is rocky pyramid hallowed in memory of four partisans from 2. battalion, fallen on 23.3.1942, second world war. Second memorial plaque, only few minutes away, is hallowed to the struggle of partisans with italians in the same year.

Pugled in located at the edge of City municipality Ljubljana, behind the village Veliki Lipoglav. The hill is 615 meters high and it is forested, therefore the view from the top is limited. Ascent to the top is not hard, therefore presents a nice walk in the shade of the trees. [_Read more_]
