In year 1955 Jakob Križaj, employed as a railway worker, brought to his home from Bled, in the flask in which he carried his lunch, four 10 centimeters big seedlings of the spruce. He planted all four at home. When Žarko Bole found out, that Jakob has at home almost meter high trees, he asked him, if he can donate them to Nova Gorica. In year 1960 they were planted on Kidričeva ulica.
In front of the Post building still today grows one of these four spruces, which were in Nova Gorica brought as 10 centimeter high seedlings in a flask. Other were unfortunately cut down.
